152x183 cm ~ Drawing, Charcoal
A charcoal drawing on joined sheets of paper. It depicts a stylised interior of a cabin on a ferry with a figure in the bottom bunk and another figure on the steps to the top bunk. This drawing was selected for the 2020 Derwent Drawing Prize exhibition which was to have shown in London and Paris but has been curtailed to an on-line exhibition due to Covid-19 restrictions. It refers to confinement and movement and the human presence in architecture. This drawing is one of an ongoing series exploring the human presence in an interior, with movement through space and in relation to the outside spaces, all made in the 2018 - 2021 period.
